<p>I took the SAT for the first time in March. Here's the breakdown:
680 CR :(
720 Math
720 Writing, 9 on essay (was expecting at least a 10 xD)
This is the prep that I got: I took about 4 full-length practice tests from the CB between December up to the day before the actual SAT. I had no exposure to the SAT before December whatsoever because I was being an idiot and wasting my summer lying in bed reading manga xD I read through PR a little bit, had Barron's from my friend but didn't even touch it.
So I'm thinking of taking the test again in May, but my friend advised me to wait at least 3 months, otherwise my scores won't improve. Is that true?
I can't take it in June because that's when I plan to take my SAT Math II and Bio.
I really want to get >2200 the second time around, 2300 would be ideal. I aim for 700 on CR and at least 750 on Math...With one month to go, do you guys think I'll be able to do it?How should i study? Thoughts? Suggestions and tips?</p>
<p>Would def take it again. See if you take a few prep tests under timed test conditions where you have trouble. Look to see if you miss the same type of questions or always run out of time in one section. My bet is you will improve even if just one section. Schools super score these days…</p>
<p>@billcsho I have 3 AP tests in May, AP Bio AP U.S. Gov and AP Language and Composition. But I plan to apply to the Questbridge College Match and the deadline for application is in September, so I have to rush to get all my testing done this year :(</p>
<p>Yes - your scores will improve. Go ahead and take it again. You have a very good score, but you will get even better with the superscore. Best of luck!</p>
<p>I don’t think you need to worry too much about Writing (though it would be helpful to improve your essay…) and Math. But for reading again 680 isnt too bad either, it seems like you just need more practice -, definitely memorize some vocabs and just solve as many CR sections as you can until the test day.</p>
<p>My scores improved 170 points from January to March so if I can do it, you can do it haha…do a few more practices and see how they’re going and take May if you feel more confident…gl xo</p>
