I'm a senior and I got the results of the October ACT recently.
This was the first time I had ever taken the ACT.
I have also taken the SAT twice.

ACT:
English - 33
Math - 27 (ahh! :( )
Reading - 32
Science - 30
Composite - 31
Essay - 8
Combined English and Writing - 30
(I got an 8 on the SAT both times as well)

a 31 ACT can be considered equivalent to a 1360-1400 CR+ M on the SAT. I would advise you to send both since they are similar.

As for retaking the ACT, I would only suggesting doing so if you fully know that a 27 Math is not your best and that you can definitely get 30+. Otherwise I would say start focusing on the other aspect of your application (essay, ECs, recommendation) to ensure that they are great.

PS. if you do decide to retake the ACT, then ensure that the schools you are applying to superscore the ACT.

Thanks!
I know I can do better than a 27 if I prepare better but I’m not sure if it’s really worth going through the trouble of retaking the ACT…

P.S. - Some don’t so it probably wouldn’t make sense to retake.
