2260 sat - 3.4/4.0 gpa

-SAT Breakdown-

CR: 800
Math: 680 =(
Writing: 780

Honestly, what are my chances of getting into UMD College Park? I know the SAT is fine, although the GPA worries me... Of course that's a simplistic question because it discounts all the other factors which go into admissions. I won't list all of my co-curriculars, so just assume I'm solid and well rounded in that area.

Aside from that, I'd like to know whether taking the SAT again in October would be a good idea. I'm pretty confident I can reproduce the perfect CR, although you never know what ridiculous vocab the CB will throw in. Of course my math is big black mark, but it came with absolutely zero study time. I'm not saying I should expect anything above 750 with hardcore studying, but a score of, say, 730 would look much better to Admissions and boost me up above the prestigious 2300 line.

All answers are appreciated, thanks!

you should be good. esp. if you’re in-state.

ur deffff getting into umd but wut is ur gpa… if its too low like <2.5 then

can be please chance bck? thanks :]

i wonder what his GPA is, too…

if only i could find such information in the title of the thread…

College Park doesn’t reject people with triple 700+s. Even with a 680 and a 3.4 (UW I hope?), I’m sure you’re in. It’s deceptively selective (i.e., it has a low acceptance rate) because most students from Maryland apply, many of whom are not qualified. It’s not, as we say, a self-selecting applicant pool.

Yeah, it’s unweighted. Thanks for the reply, I feel more confident now =D
