Hey guys, I got. 2220 and 2260 superscore. Here is the breakdown:

740 CR
720 M
760 W

This was a good improvement over 2130- 650 CR, 680 M, and awesome 800 W. However, I feel that I could get even higher maintaining CR and W and getting math to 780, which I would've gotten without the stupid simple errors.

This would give me a high 2200 and superscore of 2300+, without much more effort on my part. I need as high of an SAT score as possible to offset a lower class rank as I may be in the bubble for top-20 schools.

Yes, but would 2220 be too low for like top colleges? I heard the “big boys” don’t even superscore. They just look at your highest scores from each individual section, but they don’t put them together to recalculate.

If anyone has more info on this, I’m interested too.

The schools I am applying to that would be in the top-20 are Duke (ED), Northwestern, Chicago, and Cornell. All of them superscore, so I’m not dealing with HYPSM etc.

^^ I’m sorry that I offended you. My colleges just demand that I have very high standards for my stats. Otherwise I’d be very happy with myself (which I still am)

^Based on your experience, would you suggest I retake- I have a 3.86 with most rigorous schedule (12 AP’s by end of senior year) but a 73/422 rank at a top-60 public HS. I feel that I need to justify my intellectual ability to make up for the poor rank.

There is no need to retake the SAT. Once you break 700, the scores are not AS important for most schools. Heck, most schools have an even lower “barrier” for the SATII Writing section.

At this point, the rest of your application is going to make the difference. 50 extra points would benefit you less than becoming more involved in your extracurricular activities and/or community service. If you’d like, you could also use the time you would have spent retaking the SAT to polish your essays.

Please note, I am not stating that a higher SAT score is a bad thing. I am simply saying that your scores are already “good enough”. Spend time working on the non-academic portions of your packet. You could also spend time improving your GPA for the remainder of your high school career. This should help boost your class rank a bit.
