I got an 800 CR and 780 Writing. Math was achieved with zero study time. Retake again in October? I'm not a math person, though would a score of 730 be a reasonable expectation? With heavy studying, of course.

go for it 10char

yes you can do it, but why waste time with the SAT1? Take the math1or 2

Exactly my life, but a 670 math. I have a 720 math from before, so I have a 2300 superscored. I can’t bear to take the SAT again, and I would fail SAT math I or II. Ungh. How bad does it look?

im in that same boat as well…800 cr, 780 writing, 690 math for a total of 2270…i decided not to take it again and i took math 1 and got a 740…so i bet you guys could do it…taking the SAT 1s again i think is just a waste of time b/c you could only go up a bit on math and you will only go down on the other 2…take math 1 or 2, or just leave it, it’s not a big deal especially b/c your other scores are great

I’d definitely take it again. It’s a lot easier to improve the math score then the reading or writing score.

haha i got a 680 in math too. epic fail.

I wouldn’t call it an “epic fail”, lol. Extreme much?

But I get your point.

I disagree. I think writing is the easiest to improve. You pretty much just familiarize yourself with or memorize a few grammar rules. If you have the patience to do so, your golden.

Bump 10charrrrrrr

retake it.

i will never understand you high crit reading and writing people with low math scores lol. never studied 1st time SAT 780 math, 590 reading 600 writing…lol

^agreed. I can see scores of low 700s, but I cannot imagine an 800 in CR. On the other hand, I cannot see myself getting any more than one wrong on math even on my worst days (2 stupid mistakes would be too much. I consider myself a careful person).

Well I would study really hard for the SATII Math Level 2’s. If you get an 800 on those it will most likely make it seem that your SATI scores were a fluke.

It is quite interesting seeing all the different types of SAT scorers. I got an 800 on the math, 750 on the Writing, and 670 on the Critical Reading. I really hate how the SAT is 2/3 English and 1/3 math.

I would say don’t retake it unless you feel confident you will retain your good scores in the English portion, and 800 the math.

As for stupid mistakes on the math, I almost always over think 2-3 problems (have to catch myself), and hopefully realize that integration is not required in SAT Math.

I’m in a similar situation. 2220- yay! 690 CR- boo! I’m done though, not taking it again :P

A 680 math is in the 91st percentile…you’re in the top 9% of SAT scorers across the nation. Unless you’re aiming for MIT or Caltech, I doubt that you “need” to retake to get a 700+. If it’s a personal goal, then go for it.

Well the thing is that my gpa is low, 3.4 unweighted. I take alot of honors and AP classes, though that isn’t enought to erase the scar which is my low gpa. Because of this I was curious as to whether my SAT score would be enough to ease the judgement of the adcoms. Of course I’m not shooting for MIT or Caltech, although my schools are upper middle class.

damn i hate you. lol. i got perfect on math and horrible cr/writing scores. i wish i could somehow share your brain.

Haha I’m on the verge of learning how to merge minds.
