2nd Chance Me!

I posted my first chance here a little over a week ago and I wanted a second try at it with more schools and updated GPA and other stats =)

I'm currently a Filipino Junior at a Magnet School (Career and Technical Academy) in Nevada. I just signed up here on College Confidential because I'm heavily focused on my college search and working on preparation like the SAT's in March and considering more EC's and AP classes during senior year. I'm dead set on majoring in Civil Engineering and leaning towards going out-of-state. First, my stats:

School: Southwest Career and Technical Academy, Las Vegas, Nevada (New School-2009)

Program Area/Major: Hospitality (don't know if it will help my chances for Engr.)

School GPA: 3.5, 4.125 weighted
UC GPA: 3.45 (first semester just ended and its improving!)
-It should be around ~4.25 weighted by graduation

Class Rank: 85/388 (Hanging onto the top 25% as hard as I can!)

SAT: (I averaged my two PSAT scores for now, taking the real one in March)
-Reading:590 - Math:610 - Writing:590
*Considering taking ACT, still looking into it

Rigor:
-AP: APUSH (Jr. Year), AP Calc AB + AP Physics B (Sr. Year)
*Considering AP Chemistry and AP US Government, don't know if I can take the load yet

-All Other Classes like English, Science and Math are always Honors

Electives/Program Classes:
-Language: Spanish 1, 2 and 3
-Humanities: Psychology + Sociology
-Arts: Graphic Design 1 + Photography
-Hospitality Courses: Marketing 1 and 2, Travel and Tourism, Hospitality Management 1+2

ECs: I'm really thin in this area =/
-Inactive DECA Member
-Plan to join NHS this spring
-Plan to join Key Club this fall
-My Hospitality Program has internships the last semester of Senior Year, idk if that counts?

Prospective Schools: I'm safe for UNLV and UNR thanks to the advanced diploma =)

I've added some more schools to the original 10 so I divided them

Univ. of Washington, Seattle
Cal State Sacramento (for WUE)

Major: Civil Engineering

Sorry if it seems like a huge load of schools, my college search is still pretty broad right now x) I'll do another chance after I get my SAT Scores around April. Any advice on even one school will be great, I'll even chance back! Thanks! :D

Bump!!!

Bump!!!

NARROW YOUR LIST! You shouldn’t have much more than 12.

The only one I’m familiar with is UT-Austin. And that’s a High Reach for you.

I did have that small list of 10 colleges I thought I was sure with TheKongo but I checked out all ~260 universities in the US that have civil engineering and came up with these 26, sorry if its overwhelming. But thanks for your input! I thought UT Austin’s not that bad admit rate (like 45% I think) and top notch engineering school would make it a nice school to get into, but I guess my chances are slim for Austin. Thanks Again!

Bump!!!

At this point, UC Davis is a reach, along with UT. I am a Washingtonian, and I can say for a fact that Seattle University is a beautiful school, and a perfect match.

Thanks 87thebends! I guess if Davis is a reach, same with Irvine. Which UT are you referring to?

Seattle University does seem like a nice school, very urban  only issue is the expensive tuition since its private but which means more financial aid. Looks like I match up with it though so thanks again!

Keep it coming guys!

Bump!!!

Bump!!! Come on guys, anymore?

One more bump, ANYTHING guys?
