If my winter trimester ends Feb 15, do you think colleges will look at those grades as much as the 1st trimester ones?

(So basically, if I get a few Bs will it matter or not)

anyone?...

Instead of putting yourself at risk, why don't you just continue to do what you do?

Because getting good grades at my school is hard. I don't want to stress about a few Bs if I don't need to, but if I do I'd like to know

Ok, well, tell us which colleges you're applying to/whether you have been accepted. That can make a difference.

Accepted: Villanova EA
U Scranton EA with 13000 per yr scholarship

Applying to: Colgate
Lehigh
Sewanee
W&L
Vanderbilt
UDel
Dickinson
Denison

They might look at them. They might not. No one knows except the adcoms, and they're not going to tell. if you call the admissions office, they will tell you yes, those grades are fair game. Why take the risk?

Ok, if you're planning on going to one of those colleges you've been accepted to, then in my opinion, no, you shouldn't stress out if you get a B or two, because that's unlikely to get your admission rescinded.

However, if you really want to go to one of the colleges you're still waiting to hear from, then I'd suggest you keep on getting those A's.

These are only my opinion.

Okay, thanks. I was just wondering because I've been under the impression that only 1st trimester senior grades really mattered but then when I saw when our 2nd trimester ended I figured colleges might take them into consideration.

if you are applying RD, many of your schools with request a mid year report meaning your second trimester grades will be looked at.

Also keep in mind that admissions are contigent on your successful completion high school. Since you have gotten merit money, should you have a major case of senioritis, you could risk losing it because you no longer meet the criteria.

^Yeah I wasn't planning on failing anything lol it's just that my life would be a lot less stressful if I didn't have to worry about a B or three. Oh well.

I think it's likely the schools will want to see the 2/15 grades before making a decision.

sitting here and thinking about the massive amounts of hw i have and then recent drama with friends who said they didn't include me in their beach week house because i wasn't social enough over the summer because i had a bunch of ap crap to do, makes me want to say "shut it" to all those who say just keep making the good grades and don't get a B because it will be bad, because this is YOUR and MY senior year and it is supposed to be memorable and how can it be if i'm stuck still trying to make A's. A few B's will not kill you. I think to myself these hours I work slaving away on homework and studying when I could be out with friends who I won't see in the next year when I'm off at college are not worth it. Go out and have fun, and if you get a B in AP calc or something instead of an A, seriously, lets be human, I don't think you are going to get an ap rescinded if u got in ED or whatever... ugh I'm tired of ppl saying we can't start slacking off cause seriously IT IS SENIOR FREAKING YEAR!!!

agreed.....senior year was traditionally about forging strong relationships with your friends and making good memories, not having to keep top grades in your most rigorous courseload ever...What happened?...btw, not that I'm encouraging it or anything, but, a college will not rescind your admission and force you to go to a local community college because of a few Bs, or even a C...all you people who keep posting that THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING AND REALIZE THAT YOU ARE DEFYING LOGIC....WHY SHOULD GETTING 3 Bs out of Multiple Rigorous courses in your senior year, after you have already been accepted, force you into community college and make your life miserable...IT DOESN'T HAPPEN...and please, do me a favor, if you are going to talk about admission revocation, please, give me solid evidence...not "I heard that someone with a C in AP CALC lost their acceptance to such and such"...because the fact of the matter is, rescinded admission is soooooo rare that it does not have to be a worry...RELAX and think to yourself, did anyone in your school last year have their admission revoked for a few Bs...give me a break CCers

Ah yeah I'm glad I got into those 2 schools and everything but neither of them are really on the top of my list, so I'm a lot more concerned about whether the schools that havent made the decision yet care or not

But thanks for the replies :)

Last month I got accepted into the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and I will accept their admission. Basically this semester I will get like 3 C's taking 5 AP courses. Do you think this is okay? or do I need B's??
Thanks

Order some B's, just to be safe...
