Do colleges ever see 2nd semester senior yr grades before making regular decisions? Barring waitlists of course.

Yes, the most selective do. You are required to send in final grades, and if you have a couple of C, or a single D, they will often ask you to take remedial action during the summer before you matriculate, or in severe cases nullify your acceptance by referring to the conditional language in your acceptance… something about the expectation that you will continue to perform at a superior level acadmically throughout your senior year.

The Universities of California are particularly strict about D grades (you’re rescinded)… which happens more than anyone cares to know in AP Calculus!

Do a search on this Board on the words “Acceptance Revoked” or “acceptance rescinded”.

DunninLA, read the question again.

oops, thanks anapplicant. I’ve got a touch of the flu and completely missed that detail.

I think 2nd semester grades are only reviewed when an applicant is on the Wait list and is being re-evaluated for admission.

No they (usually) don’t see 2nd semester grades.
