If I apply literally right now, would they accept me before 3/31? Also, could I call and ensure that my application gets looked over by AES? Could I get distinction?
I think you will be accepted by 3/31 so you will be considered for an AES scholarship. As far as level, your stats are more in line with the Achievement level. I do think other things are considered; rank, number of AP courses, outstanding ECs. There is a student on the UT Austin website that was offered a full ride with scores on the lower side but her EC’s were outstanding. They are looking beyond just scores. I don’t know if calling would help at this point, your application will be considered.
They really don’t look much beyond SAT/ACT and GPA. I managed to wrangle that out of one of the AES team members. Of course that’s not the official party line.
