Transfer Applicant Statistics (Fall 2010 Entering Class)

Applicants: 12,349

Admitted: 6,392 (51.8%)

Enrolled: 1,591

* 3.34 mean GPA

UCSB Admissions

As UCSB is a mid-tier UC, I'd expect the same stats at Irvine and Davis.

What are UCI/UCD’s transfer stats?

I could not find official* statistics for Irvine or Davis. Those are UCSB’s stats from last year, but I’d expect similar stats for this year…

^^ StatFinder’s the best. [University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/statfinder/drawtable.aspx?track=1) Edited: Does that link work? For 2009, the differences between average admitted GPA for the three schools are negligible.

I’m not familiar with their threshold, but perhaps it’s because of TAG?

Also a interesting thing I found in that stat finder thing is SB has a much higher parents income than the other schools. At 71k compared to the 60-50k of other schools. I wonder why? Im way under those stats my parents income hovers around 29k…Do they take that into account when selecting for admission or is it just for stats?

You’re right.

They should raise the requirement to 3.8.

“At 71k compared to the 60-50k of other schools. I wonder why?”

Spoiled rich kids who just want to party?

“They should raise the requirement to 3.8.”

I don’t see that being logical considering that they’re not all that prestigious. They’re not a high enough ranked institution to be that competitive. With a 3.8 at a CCC, you’d be a strong contender for UCB, UCLA, and UCSD. (Which make up and complete the UC top tier trifecta.)

Then again, they do have the current highest GPA minimum requirements for TAG, at 3.2. Whereas UCSD is still at 3.0, but that looks to be fixed next year with UCSD upping their mim. GPA requirements.

I was just taken aback by the 3.34.
