I only accuse ■■■■■■ of ■■■■■■■■, and I am tired of said ■■■■■■ ■■■■■■■■ this board.

Dude, there was ONE direct reference to you getting “low grades” and that was the guy who criticized you for getting a B in Sports when you’re a nationally ranked athlete, which is a pretty fair criticism. Someone took issue with you predicting all As for yourself in senior year, when your record suggests that is unlikely. That is also fair. You’ve actually only gotten one actual chance, and that was without your ECs (which, for some reason, you refused to post).

What is more indicative than anything is your behavior on this thread. You say that everything is great - your ECs, your recs, your essays (and your test scores speak for themselves) - and then you insist on having a chance thread anyways. What do you want us to tell you if you think everything is great? If it’s all genuinely great, you should get in, shouldn’t you? Yet you repeatedly fight with what criticism people do offer and then go into other people’s chance threads to spread advice that you disputed in your own thread. You’re a fool, and that is much more detrimental to your application than your GPA could be.

Good for you.

Don’t feed the ■■■■■ christiansoldier. He may check his grades in 10 minutes and find that he has a 4.0.

- fair point. If you look at my past records, I used to suck at P.E. But I improved to a level that I am nationally ranked (but that sport is very rare, which is why I am nationally ranked)

-fair point. thank you so much for being this detailed. :)

fair point. I will improve my attitude. Thank you christiansoldier for your words. I think CC is not the correct place to ask for chances. There are overachievers everywhere here.

Also, I apologize to everyone. My insecurity resulted in constantly and vehemently disagreeing with other posters.

Once again, thank you. I will stop being insecure, and leave my GPA alone. That is what I earned (although my high school is very highly ranked) and that is what I deserve.
-Thank you. :)

Yeah, and you are gonna stay and see whether my grades are accurate or not, right?
After all, CC is your home.

And I do not see why you call me a ■■■■■.
Are you mad that I have higher stats than you?

If not, please refrain from writing ■■■■■■ all over the boards.

A good quote for you:

Thanks to Ivyfootballer
Mark Twain

Jersey13 might be the wrong person to challenge to a stats war.

The funny thing is, even in your ■■■■■■■■, your stats are still weaker than mine. Unlike you, I don’t bother with chance threads and rarely advertise my own achievements. From an objective standpoint, you don’t help your case by “discovering” that you scored a 2400 three weeks after June scores are released and conveniently 10 minutes after creating a chance thread.

Good for you.

Nice try editing your previous post, Jersey.

Good for you.
Wanna talk in PM?
You are inciting this thread.

Three weeks? Lol.
Who are you to misinform other posters on this thread?

If you can get recruited for your sport, the Gpa is good enough balanced by the scores.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

Thank you Redroses.
My sport is a very rare one though- which is why I am nationally ranked, and I doubt colleges will recruit me for that sole reason.

Jersey- Lol. I replied to a PM.

It’s “IBfootballer”

I don’t have anything to do with the Ivies. Not that I’m disdaining, but because I didn’t see a reason to apply to them.

What makes you think that people with 1800s and 4.0s stand a chance of getting in?

You’ve really tried TOO HARD with your stats. You’ve taken 5 SAT IIs (taking that many reflects poorly), you’re loading on APs like they’re nothing, and you retook a 2320 on the SAT.

You say that you have nullified your future. You are deluded. Not getting into an Ivy does not mean that your future is ruined. Getting into an Ivy does not mean your future will be bright. You are a sufficiently competitive applicant that you may even be able to get into an Ivy, and you are sufficiently competitive for other top schools. But only a few thousand people graduate from HYP each year, and yet the rest of us seem to get along fine.

You seem to believe that with all your hard work, you deserve to get into an Ivy. You don’t. Nobody does. Nobody is entitled to that.

19 APs is not a good idea. Don’t do it. Just don’t. Spend your time doing well in fewer classes and working on your applications. However, if all you have to offer in an application is a picture of someone who works himself into the ground in and lived his HS life in order to impress an adcom, you may find yourself with an acceptance list which you are not happy with. If that happens, you will realise that you have wasted a lot of your life living to impress an anonymous adcom, and hopefully subsequently realise that you need to grow as a person in college.

I’ve taken 4 SAT II’s (I know, what was I doing) and I’m thinking about retaking a 34 ACT. Should I be concerned about becoming a henrymoore?

Thank you IBfootballer for your kind words.
I will definitely reconsider the load of APs.

Definitely.

And by my future, I think you are misinformed.
Getting into an Ivy= Just one step in your life.
Not your future.
I remember reading about how Harvard rejected Warren Buffett, but he chose to move on.

That is my attitude right now.

Your kind words, really mean much to me.
I will not take more APs.
Once again, thank you. ![]()
We need more posters like you on CC- who genuinely care about other applicants and give them a word of advice.

ripemango- Thanks. Now you created a “henrymoore” hype. We used to call people with beastly stats a “christiansoldier”.

Ripemango, there is an alternative school of thought from what IBfootballer has described. I think you should do what you feel comfortable with, and not worry about what adcom will think about it. If that means taking 9 SAT IIs to show yourself that you really learned the material, so be it. If that means retaking a 34 on the ACT because you know you can do better than that and you want the best out of yourself, so be it. A college that respects your attitude will find you.

^ Seconded.

I’ve taken 4 SAT II’s (I know, what was I doing) and I’m thinking about retaking a 34 ACT. Should I be concerned about becoming a henrymoore?

I dunno about the ACT, but I took 4 SAT IIs because it was a lot less crazy than 3 (either all in one day = dead, I can’t do three different subjects like that, or 2 and then 1, and why would I feel like showing up just for 1? waste of time when the test center is so far away and so early.). I also wanted to have two humanities and two science/math, just in case one of either category went further south than I would’ve liked, and that’s my only external “can I do [humanities] or [science/math]” test score. Not crazy :)

Oh my god, after reading this ENTIRE thread, you’ve all just *ed me off. Can you just give that annoying turd (yes, I’m talking about henrymoore) a break?!?!?! You guys are all acting like *ing five year olds. Just stop. This website is used to HELP other applicants by giving them ADVICE, not by dissing them and calling them ■■■■■■ (seriously?). And, henrymoore, you’re not really helping your cause much either.

If you want my advice, PM me.
