If you buy two pairs of boots at orientation and purposely leave one pair at home during inprocessing, will the Academy issue you a third pair to have during basic?

-Thanks

Why, may I ask, would you leave a pair at home?

Probably dad or brother wants a pair. The money for the boots comes out of your check. You can buy all the boots you want. But; considering there's hundreds of styles, you'd be better off buying a pair online or from an Army/Navy type surplus outlet. The ones for you, you want to make sure they are the right ones.

Also; fwiw; again it's your money. During orientation, you can buy 3 pairs if you like.

Haha I personally assumed such, just curious...;)

well actually my mom said she already had a check for two pairs of boots, but I didn't want to lug around both pairs on I-day. So they will issue me a pair of boots no matter what?

you'll want both pairs of boots. the couple extra pounds will be worth having dry boots to use (my opinion)

Theres no way you will ever need 3 pairs of boots. I hardly ever use my second pair, only when we have training or something As a freshman, you will still rarely use a second pair if you have it. And again, they would have to be the correct kind.

They will force you to have two on I-day. I had a pair with me that they didn't allow me to use for BCT, and they made me get issued 2 more.

Going into my firstie year with the same pair since before inprocessing. Never did get another pair...still waiting for ABUs and no polish.

ok thanks. I think my question was a little vague, AC23 you answered it
thank you!
