Yes, 3 years ago, UM was preparing for "The Game of the Century" against #1 Ohio State. Today, Wisconsin scored the most points it's ever scored against M as M went down to another defeat. The rebuilding program continues to look more like a demolition. For years--decades, really--promise a shot a an NFL career, promise of a shot at the Big Ten Championship, promise of contending for the National Championship, and a virtual lock on a big bowl game made for a steady supply of quality athletes. That was then. Today the program is in dreadful shape, and the NCAA is investigating charges of misconduct. RR must go--if there isn't a BIG change next year, and when he leaves all involved in hiring him should leave. (I know the AD will be gone, but I don't think the blame stops with him.)

Interesting.

How is University of Michigan in soccer? Is soccer big on campus or is it overshadowed by Michigan’s basketball?

soccer is huge… it’s the biggest sports attraction at michigan… it’s even bigger than michigan football…
every spring, 107,501 people crowd into the big house to watch the soccer games… at least the soccer coach is probably competent compared to the dumb hick we have for football… the guy cant even manage the clock… (hm… maybe call a timeout instead of let wisconsin burn 1 minute of the 2 minutes left?.. like …maybe call a timeout to save some time on the clock when the game’s still close? just a suggestion)

RR will have one more season to turn things around. Another 0.500 season or worse is not acceptable given the talent and resources availlable to a head coach. I don’t care if the talent suits the coach’s style. A good coach wins, regardless of the type of talent he has, as long as the talent is there…and at Michigan, the talent is ALWAYS there. It’s called coaching and making necessary adjustments. I have seen very liltte in his first two seasons that convinces me that RR is the right coach for Michigan. He just doesn’t know how to build a team at Michigan. Things were going fine thyis year until he benched Forcier against Iowa. Since then, the team has not been the same. This team has given up on the coach and that’s a sure sign of poor coaching. We will most certainly finish this season 5-7. This is better than last year’s 3-9, but quite frankly, anything less than 7-5 this season would have raised serious red flags.

Oh well, RR’s clock is ticking and he has 1 year left. I wish him all the best, but I am seriously doubting he will turn things around. Now I understand the wisdom of hiring a “Michigan” man!

I feel like this is probably not the place you want to discuss this, they have football/sports forums all over where people will care more and be better informed.

I’m an Ohio State fan.

I’m visiting Michigan this coming weekend, so before my ER notification comes back - guess where I’ll be spending that Saturday morning/afternoon.

Michigan football sucks, but I’m willing to be a traitor if I end up going to Ann Arbor for school - I’m a big hockey fan too so I think I might just focus on that one - anyone been to a UMich hockey game? How about a football game, give me some tips (I’m wearing the OSU hoodie - that’s not negotiable) or some insight as for what to expect.

If you have been to a Michigan info session or been accepted, you know that the success of the football team is very much a part of what Michigan does to attract and secure excellent students. “The Leaders and Best.” A Michigan education is a wonderful thing, and for many, for decades, fun in the Big House has been part of it. This is a perfectly appropriate place to discuss the team, what’s happening to it, and appropriate responses.

I blame it on our safeties…

Oh wow that was sounds so great, but I caught on that you were being sarcastic.

Can we not have stuff about sports on this forum??? I’m a die hard Michigan everything fan and it hurts to see this stuff when I want to talk about academics T_T

Here’s a crazy idea…if you don’t want to read the sports threads, don’t click on them.

woosah-Michigan is not for you.

woosah-michigan hockey is the second biggest sport on campus since traditionally they are one of the best hockey programs in the country. if you are wearing an osu hoodie you will probably be assualted. maybe not assualted, but you will be booed and harassed, so you better be a dedicated fan of osu because it will not be a fun experience. also if u r dedicated enough to put up the harassment then you probably shouldnt go to michigan

^^^You’ll be teased for sure, but certainly not assaulted. Ann Arbor is not now, nor ever has been, like Columbus.

You people seem to forget we have started two walkons on our defense. They all suck. Some of that is talent, some of it is probably coaching (LB coach Jay Hopson needs to go). 3 YEARS AGO WE HAD OVER 20 NFL PLAYERS. Yes, 20. This team has 2.

Replying to Alexandre

I’M ALL IN FOR MICHIGAN

Unfourtunatley the TALENT IS NOT " Always there" When Coach Carr left the cupboard was left bare especially on the defensive side of the ball. When you have two walk-ons (Kovac and Leach) contending for starting pt, you know that there is a lack of talent.

The team has not quit on Rich, if anything they are stronger. Right now Michigan is down but not out, so people are going to get their cheap shots in aka the “free” press. Boren and the whole family values drama.

Rich has only had ONE Recruiting class of players that fit his system of ball, once he gets three classes in, Michigan will retutrn to glory and win multiple national championships.

…Rich Rodriguez is a Michigan Man, anyone can see that in the interviews and postgame confrences by the passion he displays for the university and his players.

It’s easy to be a bandwagon fan, but I stick with my teams and know that Rich will return the most prestigous program in all of sports back to the football elite.

I heard this rumor michigan is gonna beat osu saturday…

cheyeaaaaaaaaa^^^^^^^^^^^^^

okay, I’m a big football fan but if people are serious when they think I should eliminate Michigan based on the football rivalry that’s sad. Michigan is a great school, can’t really say the same for Ohio State. I also went to the Cowboys Stadium opener this year in an Eli Manning jersey and was fine - I think I’ll be okay. I’ll still be considering UMich, sorry.

woosah, if you go to Michigan, you will inevitably become a Wolverine, through and though. You may always have a weak spot reserved for the Buckeyes, but one cannot attend Michigan and not emerge transformed. Sorry dude, you had better accept it from now.

Yeah I know that -“4. Michigan football sucks, but I’m willing to be a traitor if I end up going to Ann Arbor for school - I’m a big hockey fan too so I think I might just focus on that one - anyone been to a UMich hockey game? How about a football game, give me some tips (I’m wearing the OSU hoodie - that’s not negotiable) or some insight as for what to expect.”

The OSU Hoodie is for this weekend not if I attend
