Should I go for the 34 if I'm planning to apply to the UCs and a couple of privates?

what kind of question is that? its like getting a 95 on a math test and asking if you should re do it and get an 100…obviously if you want to have a higher chance do it

I got a 32 and didn’t wish to retake it.

Sorry to jump in a little late on this topic, but I definitely think you should retake the test if you feel you didn’t perform to the best of your ability. For one, a 32 and 34 are the “magic numbers” in terms of scholarships for the ACT. I don’t know much about the UCs, but in the East you’re really only competitive for scholarships at Duke, Vandy, and Emory with a 34 or higher. Also, you could improve drastically; as an anecdote, I have a friend who got consecutive 33s and jumped to a 36 on his last test.
