39/40 on Math Placement Test...did I blow it?

I finished AP Calc BC this year, so I wanted to be put in the highest level math class- which would be Calc III.

But I took the math placement test in the pre orientation homework and somehow got one wrong...unbelievable. Anyway, it said my placement level would then be Math 118 or Math 125, that can't be right! That's Calc I, how can they base placement off a stupid online test! What should I do?

relax. the highest math you can test into is math 118 or 125 based off of the placement test. also depending on your major, the ap class can put you in 125 if you need it for med school. otherwise, you will get advising to take the appropriate class.

If you have a 4 or 5 you can go straight to Calc 3

By any chance, would you be so kind as to post some topics that were covered on the test. Were the questions more theoretical or more computation based?

they were really easy Henry. What math class did you take this year?

all the questions are theoretical material that are usually covered in a pre-calc class. if youve been in calculus for a while it might be a good idea to go back and review some of the old stuff

If you get the highest score, will you be forced to take higher level class? or can you choose lower one?
