Hello! I am a girl who just recently applied to UCs to transfer.
I applied with 3 Ws on my transcript:
one from when I took a college class in high school, one from my first semester of college, and one that I dropped on time but still somehow got a W for.
for the 3rd one, I emailed the professor many times and visited the admissions various times with all the proof that I could gather.
It has been months since I have turned in the proof, but the W was not taken off so I had to apply with the extra W that I did not deserve.
After ending the Fall semester, I checked my transcript during winter break and realized I had another W…
I was enrolled in the physiological psychology class, but there were many psychology majors stressing to add the course. I had another course similar that could tackle another prerequisite, so I went up to the professor on the 2nd day of school and let her know I was dropping so someone else can take my spot.
From there, I went straight to the library to drop it, so I know that I should not have gotten that W.
I even got an email for a confirmation that I dropped it.
Although those two Ws were not my fault, my counselors advised me to not explain it to the UCs just in case they did not take away my Ws. They told me that it may make me look bad.
Do you guys think those 4 Ws will ruin my chances of gettings into UCs? My first choice is UCSD…
Also, my major is Sociology and I pretty much get straight As and is on the Dean’s list.
