4-year to 2-year to 4-year?

Does anyone have any anecdotal evidence of this occurring?

I am considering it for various reasons. What are the consequences? What are the logistics? Is it effectively ‘dropping out’? What happens to the credits from the 4-year? How does it affect transferring back into a 4-year?

Any advice on this topic would be appreciated.

Anyone? 43 views has to mean someone has some interest in this.

My brother is in the middle of doing this.

He's doing University of Arizona to Diablo Valley College to (hopefully) American University.

I'll let you know how it works out! Sorry, I can't be of much help.

No worries, it's good to hear from someone on this board that's done it. :)

I'm basically concerned about my chances of getting /back/ into a 4-year, after 'dropping out' of one before.

Obviously, people have done this. I'm just neurotic about these things -- after all, I'm on CC! Neuroticism flourishes! -- and want some anecdotes (to basically hear that their lives weren't over :P).

I have a friend who did this. He originally went to NYU, didn't like it after a year, transferred to a top california community college, and then was able to transfer into UCLA as a 3rd-year. looks like it worked out for him, so it should be do-able.

haha...that's me.

My first semester I went to George Washington University, now I'm at a local CC, and I hoping to transfer to a 4-year college for my sophomore year.

How is that working for you?
