Hey guys I’m a junior and our school has already started signing up for next year’s classes. I really don’t wanna take french 4 next year because the french teacher at my school is the worst. No joke almost everyone who had/has her, hates her. Is 4 years of french gonna increase my chances of going to a good college? (Want to be engineering major)
Yes it would.
Taking engineering out of the equation, having 4 years of a foreign language when applying to a college that requires/requests 4 years will not increase your chances, but not having it will most likely decrease your chances.
For engineering schools, few of which require 4 years of a foreign language, having 4 years will not increase your chances, especially if the rest of the application is not as strong.
it depends on the colleges you’re aiming for.
^^^ Definitely depends, but always safe to have 4 foriegn languages as many colleges require 3 and recommended 4. If you really hate it though don’t do something that’ll make you miserable!
