I start school in about a week and I’m stressed, to say the least. My current schedule is:
AP Lang
AP Chem
AP Calc BC
APUSH
AP Music Theory
Music Technology
Creative Writing
This (at least to me) seems like a huge task to take on, but preap english was a breeze for me, I got a 98 for the year in preap chem, I got a B for the year in functions/analytic geom (precalc, but the class was weighted 5.0 and we covered basic calculus 4th quarter) and I got a B in AP world while dealing with a concussion for a large chunk of the year (got it in november and I wasn’t fully back by may). I don’t want to move down to take normal classes because there were times that I’d sit in these preaps and aps and still be bored because I wasn’t learning anything or others were stuck on things for ages that came easily to me. Another reason I want to stay on the AP track in all subjects is that in my freshman year I took normal bio because of a scheduling conflict, and the class made me learn to hate the subject. I’d really rather not lose my interest in any other subjects that I enjoy.
My biggest issues are that I have horrible anxiety and I’m a major procrastinator. On top of that, I just need my sleep. Still, for the most part, I am super interested in school and learning. The only class I somewhat dread is history, but only because my memory isn’t all that great.
Should I stick with my schedule and try to buckle down or should I move down to normal classes and risk losing interest in certain subjects?
