5 Clubs With Officer Positions... too much like resume padding?

Ok so the main organizations I am in are:

Band-Drum Major
Spanish National Honor Society-President
Business Professionals of America-President
Interact- Treasurer
Student Council- Treasurer

My minor clubs are NHS, debate/writing competitions, and robotics

And I promise you that the clubs in which I am an officer in I participate and help a lot out because our school is not that competitive. Do you think I should include my minor clubs on my application or just stick with the major ones? If the major ones are too much, should I just not include one of them?

If all of the clubs are real, and all of the positions are real, list them all. The colleges/universities have experience with students like you who attend schools like yours where it is common for one student to hold multiple offices. The world needs people with good organizational and leadership skills like yours.

If you like community service, you may want to take a look at colleges/universities associated with the Bonner Scholars programs [About the Bonner Foundation](http://www.bonner.org/) . I know a multiple-presidency in HS student who received a big Bonner Scholarship to attend Guilford College.

ShinyHelloKitty, I’m in your same position. Of the 7 activities I can put on CommonApp, I have a leadership/officer role in 6 of them.

And I actually work in them. As long as you can honestly show your significance towards all the organizations I think it’s fine.

I’m in the same position also. I go to a school where it’s usually the same people who are the “leaders” and nobody else really likes to step up.

Good to know that colleges won’t think I’m trying to “stack” my application, because I really do participate in all of the clubs I’m in.

There’s an old say most older folks know: If you want to get a job done, give it to a busy person. That being said, just tell the truth about your activities and leadership. People will not hold it against you that you are a busy person who has been given responsibility (leadership positions). In fact, it obviously is a compliment to your character and make up. Good luck!
