<p>how many did you get wrong on the m/c? what did you give yourself on the essay. the curve differs per test, and i'm pretty sure the curve in the book is more lenient than the actual test's because CB is trying to make the average writing score 500 or something. not sure though.</p>
<p>yeah it's MUCH more lineant.. after i took my first practice test, the high end of my curve was in the mid 700s. i found that very odd since i had no clue what i was doing</p>
<p>by lenient do you mean easier? because I think most test prep books have harder curves than the real deal. It's pretty smart idea actually, since most test prep books guarantee improvement, if they make their tests ridiculous, you might go into a test expecting to get say a 640. Then on test day, you get a 730, bam, 90 point increase right there. Factor in that the diagnostic test is the hardest of all the tests in the book, and you may have easily had a 150+ point increase in your test score.</p>
<p>At least for the old sat, my highest practice test score was 80 points lower than my actual, and my avg score was about 100 points lower.</p>
