i took sat subject math 2 on november and got 710, and It was 48th percentile score…
I’m applying to UCI, should I submit this score or not submit any sat subject at all?
While the percentile is low, that doesn’t mean the test isn’t very difficult. Generally, only top students that are planning on applying to very selective schools will even consider attempting the SAT Subject tests (almost 20% of those that take the Math II test get a perfect 800), so an average score among them is still a job well done, and honestly, any score in the 700s will look great to any school that isn’t ivy league.
First of all, just as zeta67 said, you should note that 80th-82nd percentile score for SAT Subject Test Math II is 800. On the other hand, 99th percentile score for SAT Reasoning Test Math portion is 800. And you do know that Subject Test Math II is definitely HARDER than Reasoning Test Math. This means that most of the test takers of Math II are actually very experienced in Mathematics, as about 1 in 5 of test takers get the perfect score. Do not worry too much about the percentile you stand on.
If you are sending that score to UCI, then it would be fine as it is still above 700 and as UCI is not super-selective. However, I wouldn’t recommend it if you are sending to Ivy Leagues, as they will want scores above 750.
Ok. Thank you guys for your responses!
