<p>I keep hearing people saying the short essays for the extracurricular activities for the NYU app are 750 characters each..... but mine says:</p>
<p>"Limit your response to 7 lines, or approximately 500 characters. If you need additional space, please use the "Additional Information" page (page 7)."</p>

<p>I know I'm in the minority, but I just think the paper app is easier. I just stayed on the lines for the short answers.</p>

<p>wow that's kind of unfair......that means people applying through common app will be able to write a total of 1000 characters more.....whatever....i guess it wouldn't matter that much anyway.</p>

<p>It is 500 chars for the online NYU application (not Common App, but the one on NYU's website).</p>
