Hi I’m international student in 10th grade aiming at Amherst, Princeton or Williams and major in philosophy. I got 780 in sat2 math 2c and… should I retake it? I know it’s not a bad score but still I’m worried about it… To be honest I’m really busy with my GPA and other ECs but my parents want me to take the test again. What should I do?
no.
No. The difference between a 780 and an 800 is not statistically significant, IMO. Regardless, if you get rejected with a 780, you probably would not have been accepted with an 800. Spend your time on other parts of the application package.
To which I always ask: And what did your parents score on the exam?
Heavens no. As others above have indicated, 780 is a solid score that you should be very proud of. Good job on this accomplishment! Perhaps your parents are not aware of the statistical insignificance between a 780 and 800, in which case you can take the lead and help them understand that 780 is something to celebrate as one great score. It’s not perfection of 800 that is the objective here…hope you can make them understand. Again, congrats on your great score.
no. people on this site lol.
Thank you so much
If your parents still insist on a retake, show them this thread!
