<p>Dude, anything above 650 is considered SOLID wherever you apply to. Do not worry about that maths score, MIT wants to make sure that you can actually SURVIVE there.</p>
<p>Have been advised that admissions wants to know that you will be able to handle the math and places some emphasis on that. Seems reasonable. You might want to take the Math II and see if you can improve. I know someone who went from a 680 to a 780 on a second taking and got in to MIT (rest of application was strong),so it happens. They take your best score.</p>
<p>The score isn't great, but it can't destroy your MIT chances by itself. If you have strong gpa/sat I/ec's then you should be fine. Also it depends on what you are applying for. If you are trying to be a math major then it probably looks worse then if you are trying to be a biochem major.</p>
