800 SAT math retake?

So I'm kind of freaking out right now about my SAT 2 Math. I got an 800, but the percentile I received was 88...should I retake it? Do colleges care about the percentile? Or is it simply that alot of people did well?

Can’t do better than an 800. Don’t worry about it.

Do colleges see the percentile??

Umm, the percentile for an 800 Math II is 88, no matter how well you did. Colleges will see the percentile, but that doesn’t detract from your 800. It just means that CB curves the test so that about 12% of test takers get an 800.

Yes you should definitely retake for 89%tile. Also, you should try to get above 400 on SATII common sense next time

To the best of knowledge, they don’t. However, I think that most admissions officers probably have a rough idea; even if they haven’t seen the official percentile tables (http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/2010-sat-subject-test-percentile-ranks.pdf</a>), just from reviewing applicants’ SAT II scores, they probably know about how common an 800 is, a 750, etc.

I actually LOL’d.

^Haha me too.
Why in the world would you retake an 800? The percentile will pretty much the same every time.

lol That’s what I thought. Thanks!

you know what i have realized over the years; the people that arent that book smart have the most common sense and those that are “math geniuses” have absolutely no common sense. Seriously this is one of the most ridiculous questions i have ever read. YOU GOT AN 800!!! IF you re-take and get an 800 again, the percentile will be in the same area. I think i just lost brain cells reading this thread.

cmon man what the hell are you talking about. I had a 690 with a cold and a broken calculator on that test.

LOL! Don’t listen to them man… RETAKE THE HECK OUT OF IT… why settle for 88 percentile??? C’mon!

LOL. This is one of the most ludicrous threads I’ve read. The highest score you can get is an 800, and colleges DO know that Math II has one of the highest curves among all of the subject tests. Invest the money for something else; there’s really no point in retaking.

■■■■■ Alert.

Yea i think this was a joke

What an epic fail.

88%?
You need to do better then the 12% of kids who got an 800.
Harvard will want them more than you. Why? Because they are the top 12%.

SHAME!!!

You should attempt to get a 1000 on your math section. Anything less than more than perfect is a fail!!!

Retake it!

If you can not do it then this thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/1161632-how-do-people-cheat-sats-6.html</a> will save you.

^LOOOOOOOOOOOl

@blackrose101

perfect. I’ll vote you for president

Definitely retake

OP, are you a ■■■■■■?
