8th edition vs 10th? Does it matter??

Hello, just a quick question I have: basically, last year, I took AP Chem and I found a copy of my textbook (Chemistry by Chang 8th edition) for a buck online! So I bought it and it's in great condition. I know for my Chem 1A class, I need the same book but the 10th edition. Do you guys think I should buy the book (I was leaning on this) or just use the one I have? I'm just worried the editions will make a big difference.

Thanks!

Editions don’t make a big difference. The practice problems may have different numbers, but the concepts are the same.

Its ultimately up to you. It also depends if the professor will be using problems from a certain edition or etc.

I would also contact the professor and ask for their take on it.

ask the prof

Not too sure if it applies to Chem 1A, but for Chem 1B/1C, I never used the textbooks at all, I pretty much just bought them, stored them under my bed, then sold them. Seems like it’s more for additional help, but overall, just see what the professor says (like the people ^^^ said)

Hey guys, thanks for all of your input. I found a pdf of the current edition online and compared my 8th vs that one, and almost everything seemed the same! Even the problems for practice had the same solutions in the back so maybe I will ask the prof but I think I may just opt out of buying the 10th thanks again!
