<p>are you getting the 5th edition or 6th edition for the textbook? I was gonna buy the 5th edition because it is a lot cheaper than the 6th. I, however, emailed the professor and he said that there are significantly differences between the 2 edition and 6th edition is highly recommended.</p>
<p>unless you’re willing to make regular treks to geisel (or leave your grade in the hands of CC folks), i’d strongly recommend going with what your professor says.</p>
<p>while ochem hasn’t changed much, it’s just a lot more convenient to have the same book as the person administering the exams. the prof doesn’t have enough time to sit down with both textbooks and tell you what the equivalents are in the older version.</p>
<p>and who knows? maybe your 140B and C professors are going to <em>mandate</em> having the newer edition.</p>
