Hi everyone,
I just received my June SAT scores. I got 1660/2400 without any preparation. Is this good for an 8th/9th grader? Any tips on improving my score? (hoping to get at least 2100/2200 by Junior/Senior year)

eh. its not bad

Do you think I can get around 2100 or higher in my Junior/Senior year if I study?

By the way, I put this thread under SAT Prep (more specific) Check that one out.

I think you are in good shape.
The first time I took the PSAT as a freshman (different test, I know), I got a 172. I am a now a junior and got a 2180 on the SAT. You’ll be fine.

Please check out my other thread under SAT Prep. (same thing just under a more specific category) Thanks though!

yeah you are definitely on the right path. I know many juniors who have scored lower than that. What math are you in? If you haven’t even finished Alg II yet, you definitely have nothing to worry about.

Let’s see… a 1660 is a little better than a 24 on the ACT… In 7th Grade I took an ACT for the Duke TIP or whatever and got a 23. Right now, I’m an upcoming senior who has a 35 ACT and 2330 SAT. There are no limits for you. It all depends on how you grow over the next few years.

Thanks everyone!!! I’m going to take Algebra II with Trig Honors next year. (I took geometry in 8th grade)

Yup. Good score. Solid at least. I scored, mm around there and just scored 2100 on my SAT. That score should be higher next time I take it. PLENTY of my peers earned similar scores and did fabulously on their junior SATs (as in 2350).

Thank you everyone! :D
