9 on the sat essay?

I’m struggling with the sat essay part and I don’t know what to do. The problem is, whenever I start writing, my mind goes blank - I can’t think of any examples or any sophisticated words to use. I’ve already looked at the " How to write a 12 essay in just 10 days" and it has helped me ( more or less ) understand what this essay is really about and how to approach it, but I still haven’t been able to make progress. I can pull off a 7 essay in about 40 minutes, and that’s just about it. So what I’m asking is: is there any way I can raise it to a 9? A 9 is really all I need since I’m pretty good at the MC.

@nutellalover123‌ In all honesty, I think all you need to do is fill both pages with a somewhat coherent argument. My error-ridden, barely legible and not so well thought out essay with poor examples received a 9. If you’d like, I can PM it to you.

The graders only have 90 seconds. There’s only so much they can look at. IMO they’ll only look at what your thesis is, the examples you used, the vocabulary you used, blatant errors, and how much you said to defend your thesis

My advice is to practice by timing yourself and spewing nonsense. After each practice essay think of better examples and vocabulary words you could have used. You should gradually get better. This method took me from writing 4-5 essays (English isn’t my first language) to writing a 9 on the real thing.

@burak96 Thanks! And I’d really appreciate it if you PMed me your essay. English isn’t my first language either, but I hope i can improve.
