A college with a good journalism and medical program?

I'm a rising junior and I'm starting to think about colleges. I'm interested in journalism now (all my ECs are mostly journalism), but have the best grades in science and find those classes the most exciting. In other words, I'm bouncing between journalism and medical fields... wondering if there's a college that offers good programs in both in case I change my mind.

Oooh and stats as of now:
GPA: 5.6 W, 4.2 UW
Vball (play for rec), track
editor newspaper, write for local Chinese paper, school yearbook (hopefully editor next year)
science olympiad: regional award (but the team didn't make it to states.... D: )
volunteer at hospital and kid's camp

I'm looking for top schools (possibly Ivies if I have a chance... Asian in Jersey, best demographic huh?)

Thanks!

no Ivies that I know of are known for Journalism, though I’m sure you could get a job with a degree from any of them.

also, u can’t have a 4.2 UW GPA…

The only top 20 school that offers journalism is Northwestern. If you want to expand to top 50, then you get USC, UNC-CH, NYU, UW-Madison, UT-Austin and Syracuse.

Rather than schools with a journalism program, i sounds like you should consider liberal arts colleges, where you get a well-rounded education and could prepare for a career in anything and everything, including completing you pre-med requirements while pursuing the prep for a career in journalism (which does not require a pre-professional jouralism course of study).

Lots of journalists and doctors have their first degree from a LAC. You can easily pursue both, explore both, see how your interests emerge at a Carleton, Haverford, Oberlin, Swarthmore, Wesleyan, Williams, etc.

Actually, pointoforder has an excellent point. If you have broad interests and don’t know which to pursue yet, you could go to a LAC. There are many 1 year grad journalism programs if you decide to pursue that route, or you can just go straight to medical school if you found that career is more suitable for you.
Or just double major in any college of your choice. If you like the Ivies, Brown could be an option because they have an open curriculum, allowing you lots of room to explore.

You don’t need a journalism degree to have a career in journalism. Many top journalists come from LACs. Northwestern has a great program though, as do Syracuse and USC.

Just go to a school with a good reputation and a good school paper. No journalism department/degree required.
