hey i’m possibly considering applying to Notre Dame but had some questions

How does the Business School, particularly in Finance compare to top programs such as Wharton and Stern. Are there an abundant amount of internship opportunities following college from a graduate there from top firms as there usually is in those two universities mentioned before.

How large or small is the Jewish population at Notre Dame. Does being Jewish help or hurt in the application process?

Thanks for your time

I am an Arts and Letters guy, but I will do what I can. As for business, it looks like BusinessWeek ranks Mendoza 24th overall and US News has it 18th in finance. Where I have heard it is very strong is accounting, but that is outside the scope of your question. While this is below certain top schools, the networking ND has is amazing, and I personally believe that it is better than any other school out there, including the Ivys. There are tons of ND grads in business all across the globe and all of them are in a network so that if they can help you they will. For instance, in Denver we have a network setup with over 300 business owners where you can send everyone a resume if you are looking for a job or anything like that and they will get back to you if they have something. ND really tries to take care of its own and I think that will be very apparent. Overall, I do think ND is a good choice for business, it is a strong school, but I am biased as well.

As for the Jewish community, I think it is probably small because I haven't heard much about our Jewish community. That is not a good way to judge, I know, but that is all I have. I don't think that being Jewish will help with admissions, but you never know. I have no idea what they are looking for sometimes, lol. I hope that helps and good luck!

The business program is great from everything that I've read. It doesn't rank at the top of most lists with Stern or those, but you can be rest assured that few schools have as strong of a network as ND does. To be an ND alumni puts you a step above for any alumni, and many of those alumni are in high up positions. I've never heard of anyone out of ND having a problem getting a top job, I'm sure it's the same at the others but the ND experience is one of a kind.

As far as the Jewish community.. from what I know it is relatively small on campus... as it is in most midwest colleges, particularly Christian affiliated schools. I don't think that it will affect your chances one way or the other in admissions.

ND is a great school! good luck choosing
