I've been going over my high school course selections (which are, incidentally, severely crippled by stupid district graduation requirements), and I'm trying to choose between two options for my junior and senior years. One is involvement in a health- and service- oriented elective that involves a Certified Nurse's Assistant curriculum, volunteer opportunities at local hospitals, and community service. Most students taking that course are also involved in a health occupations club, which participates in competitions. The class is designed primarily for prospective premed or nursing school students, but I'm planning on pre-dentistry.

My other option consists of AP courses I'm interested in but would otherwise be unable to fit into my schedule-- Environmental Science, European History, and Chemistry. I could also opt to take transferable courses at the local community college-- these aren't used to determine GPA, and I'm not sure how well they'll prepare me for AP or SAT II testing.

Which do you think would look better to selective schools? I'm planning to major in biology or double major in biology and creative writing/literary arts while fulfilling pre-dentistry requirements, if that matters.

Comments appreciated. Thanks.
