A Day at _____ college

<p>UC Berkeley</p>

<p>Wake up at 4am (2hrs) for crew practice.
Work 3 hrs after pratice.
Classes (3hrs) after practice.
Lunch at 3:30
Read homework, do assignments, slip a 30 min. nap in.
Eat at 7:30
Do as much homework while maintaining sanity.
Internet 1hr
Shower
Sleep at 1/2am.</p>

<p>Some day(s) I get a bit more sleep (Saturday night, not Friday night because I have practice on Saturday morning as well)</p>

<p>UCLA (2nd year, poli sci major)</p>

<p>thursday
7am- wake up to do some reading
9am- class (stats)
11am- class (chinese)
12pm- lunch (dining hall food rocks here)
12:30pm- class (comp. politics)
2pm- class (world politics)
afternoon break, perhaps grab a smoothie
5pm- club meeting (MUN)
6pm- dinner
perhaps do some reading or homework (more like hang out in dorms and procrastinate).. or go on CC! -_-
10pm- maybe go clubbing (thursday is party night)
2am- sleep (regardless of the day of the week)</p>

<p>*insert before "class": get bombarded by people flyering to join their clubs while walking to class through Bruin Walk</p>

<p>^^ Wow talk about no sleep. =&lt;/p>

<p>adconard,</p>

<p>i'm taking 20 units (most people take 15; 19 units is the max before we have to petition for more units), and i'm pretty involved on campus too, so that's why my schedule looks bad. weekend = sleep.</p>

<p>How do you function with so little sleep? I may need some more tips from you ..</p>

<p>Yeah I would love to know. It would be cool to have more free time. =P</p>

<p>I'm pretty sure it boils down to discipline and good time management.</p>

<p>hey unlimited, looks like YOU'RE the one that functions without sleep </p>

<p>lets see.... you sleep at 1 or 2 and wake up at 4...</p>

<p>oh yeah, and 30 minz for a nap (aka, about 20-25% of your daily total sleeping time)</p>

<p>Lets go with Tuesday (you don't even want to talk about my wednesdays...)
[we are quarter system, so throw in study for midterms and finals approx. every 2-4 weeks.]</p>

<p>8:20-8:40 Wake up. It's a process.
9:00-9:15 catch bus from the Shoreland to class
9:30 Class-chinese
10:30 BJ
10:31 I explain that BJ stands for Burton-Judson and is a dining hall.
11:00-11:45 Eat, talk to house-mates, do some reading for classes.
12:00-1:20 Physics lecture
1:30 Usually talk with classmates and go eat again. Snack this time. No BJ. If I "have time" I will explore a bit more of campus, find some nice bench or lounge or hidden library and do some more reading.
3:00-4:20 Greek Thought and Lit -awesome class and a million times better than certain Philosophical Perspectives sections. (If you like 100+ pages of reading each night).
4:20 what do you think...? No, just kidding. I bus it back to Shoreland and finish up whatever homework is due next, get a bit more reading done, and check out what everyone is planning to do for dinner.
6:30 Remember that I have wushu practice in an hour and can't go to dinner with the gang.
7:30-9:00/30 Wushu! (chinese martial art)
10-12a Talking, watching people write papers, general chillin.
12a-2a busting in to people's rooms, because people are awake for no reason. listen to music. check email. wait for roomate to come back because there's no way to sleep through his return.
2/3a roomate back. sleep.</p>

<p>weekends are generally the same, but replace each class with study and homework, and add an hour to both ends of the chillin segments at night. Somehow we fit in day trips to the city and late-night swimming in Lake Michigan and all sorts of great events and activities, but I can't figure out when that happens exactly...it's 3:20am.</p>

<p>our university (dont want to say where i come from)</p>

<p>get up: anytime you want
go to bed : anytime you want
class: few students stay there
teacher: dou't care whether you come to the class or not,the only thing they do is talk, talk and talk

<p>WEEKEND
I don't have class. If I'm here, I study, pity the hungover kids with class, and watch as people head home for the weekend. Friday nights are boring, people usually drink and blast music in their rooms. Repeat Saturday. Sunday people come back and do homework.

<p>i am miffed about this season tho. </p>

<p>sry, i thought that was amusing.</p>

<p>Got nostalgic... typical Thursday senior year (I had an on-campus job):</p>

<p>7-7:30am - wake up, hit snooze 5 times
8-9am - read emails at work: Latino club budget approved; Enterprise Apps lab due today; Marketing group meeting moved to 5pm (I can go to the gym now!); senior lab aide reports last night email went down for 2 hours and that she caught newbie lab aide looking at porn in our computers.
9-11am - French class, arrive late. Elective class, so didnt care much for it. Hot friend didnt show up... merde.
11-12pm - back to work, pre-lunch hour rush: lab aide late for shift again, printers backing up, student "accidentally" deleted term paper from network drive. Have to restore file from tape backup to prevent him from getting well deserved F.
12-1pm - lunch with friends if available, if not at home watching soccer.
1-2pm - Capstone status report due, teacher kinda reads it but talks about his old job all time instead of giving us feedback.
2-3pm - Enterprise Apps class, - turn in lab, try to run it inside school intranet, crashes. It worked at home! (blame the firewall).
3-5pm - work again, training lab aides, boss says I have to order cheaper computers, no money. Change some passwords. Thinking about firing last night's pervert.
5-6pm marketing group meeting - chose our product's name in 5 min - then just hang out, do nothing else productive.
6-7pm supposed to go to gym but not kidding myself, stay at home hang out with roomate and her hot friends. Dinner.
7-9pm rework on Capstone project code - client changed requirements on us again yesterday! testing for new bugs will take extra 4hrs off my weekend :(
9-10pm video games, hang out prepare to go out.
10-12am salsa night, lots of hot girls at club, yet another night coming home without a number. Tequila shots were good tho.
12-1am go to sleep relatively early cuz tomorrow work at 8 again.</p>
