As an IB diploma candidate I am required to do many hours of service and whatnot

IB Math SL didnt have an option to HL

ECs include working at a CPAs office doing accounting and forensic accounting. I have become a valuable asset to his business and he lends me out to high profile lawyers to do work. I have been doing this for about 6 months and will continue until i leave for college
Also I have been playing guitar for 10 years and have played many concerts and taught at a few summer camps
Been on numerous mission trips and have done tons of community service with the boy scouts
Going to Texas A&M and UT Austin summer programs this summer
Boy Scout (Life Scout)
Worked in a warehouse last summer full time

I want to go to a smaller private college (Texas A&M is my safety), i live in Texas and I'm a Persian-American if that helps.

Oh and sorry if i didnt explain, ibstead of posting a list of colleges, i was hoping you guys could suggest colleges i should apply to (low reaches, high matches, matches, low matches etc.)

Do you live in Texas? Cause A&M is my safety to… lol

ummmm… what do you wanna major in? that could help

Oh yeah i live in Texas, and i wanna major in math with a minor in business/accounting.

Anyone else wanna chance me?

chance moi please??

Seeing as you’re from TX, Im sure you’ve heard of Rice.

Another school that I think you’d like is Harvey Mudd, although your GPA is a bit low.

There’s a couple of good reaches.

are you willing to go to college out of state? if so, which states?

LEMON

Im willing to go ANYWHERE inside the United States. Oh and yes ive heard of Rice im a double legacy there, and grandfather was a professor there until a few years ago :)

Chance me please please :)

some good schools in your area:
Rice (your legacy will definitly help)
Tulane (your range)
Vanderbilt
Emory (not really your area but the South)
U Texas-Austin

out of area:
Cornell (solid reach)
UC-Berkely
U Florida

your test scores are excellent, you just gotta raise your grades in senior year. You are from an underrepresented area so that might help you.
Good luck!!

Sweet! Oh man Cornell would be amazing, i would loooove to go there. Im auto accepted to Texas A&M so im looking at more of low reaches

Hmm, that UW gpa is low

But apply everywhere you want, you might get in somehwere

Can you afford to pay for college? If not, is your family income in the range for financial aid?

Look at Carnegie Mellon for a high match, if the money is good. NYU is a match as well. Both of these have great math programs, and well-known business schools (admittedly I don’t know if it is easy to get a minor from Stern or Tepper).

Ooo ok yeah Carnegie Mellon looks great for me, i am very much considering it :)

yea I was going to suggest Carnegie Mellon too…of course that would be a huge change of pace for you as it is freezing in pittsburgh…and also CMU is 65/35 guys…maybe a duke? By going there, you get an awesome sports program (as you are an athlete), top flight academics, its a great package…

Just to be clear, you are in the top 10% of your class (the Texas rule), right? Do you know your rank more precisely?

No, im about 11%

But i’ll likely be top ten percent by the end of first semester next year :)

Depends on what subjects you are interested in.

Maybe WashU, Cornell, Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Caltech?
