Been on numerous mission trips and have done tons of community service with the boy scouts
Going to Texas A&M and UT Austin summer programs this summer
Boy Scout (Life Scout)
Worked in a warehouse last summer full time

Schools Im looking at are:
Rice (parents went there, grandpa was a professor there until a few years ago)
Carnegie Mellon University
Washington University in St Louis
Emory (Oxford College, Early Action) P.S. if you don't know what oxford college is, just chance me for regular Emory, but please indicate which one you are chancing me for
Cornell (Early Decision)
Wake Forest
Tufts
Notre Dame (Early Action)
Northwestern (possibly early decision, it's either this or cornell)
University of Chicago (i know, its a reach...)

Im looking to major in Mathematics, specifically in Applied Math or Operations Research If you wanna read my common app essay just say so or PM me!

your ECs and GPA are weak… but you still have a chance at some of those (Cornell, WUS, Northwestern, Chicago are def. reaches) make sure you apply to some safeties to just in case

Looking at your application holistically, your GPA hurts you very minimally. You have challenged yourself with difficult classes and you have managed to do very well at your tests, showing that you have more knowledge than other students with similar GPAs, indicating that your school might grade deflate a bit. Will colleges see you as a slacker? Maybe a few, but a 3.4 isn’t ridiculously low.

Rice (parents went there, grandpa was a professor there until a few years ago) - 80%
Carnegie Mellon University - 40%
Washington University in St Louis - 35%
Emory (Oxford College, Early Action) P.S. if you don’t know what oxford college is, just chance me for regular Emory, but please indicate which one you are chancing me for - 45% (regular Emory)
Cornell (Early Decision) - 30%
Wake Forest - 70%
Tufts - 50%
Notre Dame (Early Action) - 65%
Northwestern (possibly early decision, it’s either this or cornell) - 40%
University of Chicago (i know, its a reach…) - 30%

I really like your chances at Rice with a solid SAT score and double legacy.

I think you should take the ACT, and add some safeties to your list.

My predictions:

Rice (parents went there, grandpa was a professor there until a few years ago)-70%
Carnegie Mellon University-50%
Cornell (Early Decision)-30%
Wake Forest- in
Tufts- in
Notre Dame (Early Action)-60%
Northwestern (possibly early decision, it’s either this or cornell)-50%
University of Chicago (i know, its a reach…)-30%

If you’re applying for Operations Research, why aren’t you applying to the top school in the country (Georgia Tech)?

Your scores put your FI at 3240/3600 and Tech admitted at 3229/3600, so you might be able to get in, even though your GPA is very low for Tech (mid 50% is 3.62-3.97 UW).

Well something important to me is a small residential college, and Georgia Tech is rather big. Its definitely on my list of schools im looking at, but i’d just rather go to a smaller school. Thanks though :)

Rice (parents went there, grandpa was a professor there until a few years ago):80
Carnegie Mellon University:55
Washington University in St Louis:50
Emory (Oxford College, Early Action): don’t know too much about emory decisions
Cornell (Early Decision): 30 (ED), 10 (RD)
Wake Forest: 60
Tufts: 60
Notre Dame (Early Action): 40
Northwestern (possibly early decision, it’s either this or cornell): 30
University of Chicago (i know, its a reach…): 20

I have had friends with similar stats in my IB diploma programme get in to many of the schools you are looking at with ease. that said, they are very interesting people, and I honestly don’t know how interesting you are.

good chance at Northwestern and U of C if you EA. Cornell may be a reach. Very good chance if you are Black or Hispanic/Latin American (not the most politically correct statement i made)
Good rigor and decent weighted Grades. Explain why your UW GPA is at the current state in Essay will be good.
