A dilemma of retaking.

As an Asian-American in California applying to HYPS (and maybe M. Definitely early to Yale though) this coming year, with medium to strong ECs (international + national recognition in one of the arts, own business), would it be in my best interest to improve my writing score - or do these ultra-competitive universities place stronger emphasis on the M and CR scores?

M: 800
CR: 790
W: 750
(MC: 71, E: 11)

Total: 2340

I took it once during sophomore year already, so I have a total of 2 tries under my belt.

No need. Typically, CR is the most important score, followed by math, then writing.

ugh. isnt being asian in cali kinda tough when college time comes around? ridiculous competition i heard. but nah. colleges do look at writing more than they say they do, but i think you’re fine. From what I’m hearing all over this site, anything for anyone in the 2300 area or above should be safe base territory.

I agree with the guy with all the numbers in the name. If you get in it will be because of your extracurriculars and what you bring to the college in your personality.
