a few days past the deadline????

What happens if the earliest we could send transcripts and teacher recs to universities was a few days later than uni deadlines?
ANd we have a logical explanation for it...
When i mean by later than the deadline, i mean it's postmark is later than the deadline
Is a few days a difference...?
Because I took a gap year, and I had to travel back to my highschool to get my transcripts....but...the school said i could only get it earliest Jan 10 and some unis have deadlines before Jan 10?
Help i'm really scared...because this means that a lot of my other uni deadlines will be passed too, and i could submit apps now, it's just the transcripts...
Should I send a photocopy of the teacher recs and transcripts that I got last year? Since those are the ones i will be sending, just that It would be officially from the school...send a photocopy first, and then later back it up with the real ones a few days later on?
Please help!

I think t is important that YOU send your part of the application on time. They will be more flexible with teachers' recs. Also, who THEY? Maybe the counselor can do it only Jan 10, but your teachers can send it on time? They can come separately.

Lynn, i do believe colleges accept photocopies lol. you're saying they're exactly the same? all my recs are photocopied and common app teacher/counselor forms are too.
USC wants them to be 'sealed,' meaning the counselor sends em out, so I'm not too sure about that..even then, it meets the Jan 10 deadline.

So photocopying sounds like the right thing to do. I also heard from my counselor that teachers writing recs for you have an 'un-spoken deadline' usually a week or two after the deadline, but I wouldn't be too sure about that.

If all else fails, I really think sending out an explanation will work.
good luck.

yea well, the counselors and teachers are on holiday...and i couldn't go earlier cos i wasn't in the same city!!!
i was thinking of sending photocopies of the transcripts and teacher recs i got last year....with an explanation that the real copies (real meaning sealed and marked with the accredited stamp...and is not a photocopy) later. Also this means that the teacher forms would not be filled out...but the actual essay recommendation i have so i can send that...it shouldn't be a prob rite

With what my counselor said, nope, shouldn't be a problem.

take a deep breath...breath breath

okay, they get the applications and create a file- then they put in the transcripts, recs, etc...and that takes, gasp more than one day

colleges aren't fools and they know that much is out of the applicants control- why do you think they let you know if someting is missing? most colleges have sites where an applicant can log in and see if everthing got there and that, gasp again, takes more than one day to set up and if its not there, you can then track it

egad, do you really think that colleges would reject an applicant because their TEACHER sent something in not postmarked the deadline date?

it takes WEEKS for colleges to input all the forms etc for applications
