Do you think I should study for the first psat I take this coming school year for sophmore year? It wont be the one I will take again to qualify for the NMQST. And another question, do you think 15 vocab words per day from the Kaplan PSAT book will be good enough for the PSAT, in either sophmore year or junior. Will those words be good to know for the SAT as well.
Thank You

IMO, take your sophomore PSAT cold to see which parts you need to work on. You still have lots of time to prep before the real thing in junior year.

yea i agree. take the PSAT cold in sophomore year. it's ok if you baunch it... that's what PSAT's are for. ;)

then i would suggest taking your FIRST sat's the lastest in the fall (oct, nov, or dec) of your junior year. If you really want to get a head start on SAT's, then take a "trial" sat in the spring of your sophomore year. then you know EXACTLY what areas you are weak at, and you won't be met with a surprise bad score in case you screw up in May of your junior year, which is usually when everybody takes it.

good luck, but remember to enjoy your sophomore year as MUCH as possible, because JUNIOR YEAR SUCKS... and same goes for the 1st semester of senior year.

wont colleges see if i getta bad score on ma sat in oct, cause like you said before, I was plaaning to take it in May.

They consider the highest scores, if you improve over your score in october, then they consider the improved score over your october score.
