I just got an ‘mail’ from Penn and I really thought this was a decision leter, even though I knew the decision is available online on March 29th
As I opened a mail,

first sentence is : "I am please to acknowledge… " SO IM GOIN CRAZY
but its just the notification of my User ID and pass code for admissions decision online… …

wow Im so nervous… even though I dont think I will get in but…
Only God knows… good luck everyone…

ya I got that letter today too. Before i opened it i kept repeated to myself "this is not the decision letter...this is not the decision letter...this is not the decision letter"
But the choice of words in the letter did kinda make my heart race a little...

yea i got the same thing, but i didn't open it because I tho i got rejected, so i told my mom to open it and she started laughing and said there nothing to worry about right now.lol

yeah, i thought it might be a likely letter or something and before i actually READ it i noticed the dean of admissions had hand-written his signature so i got really excited... hahaha

Luckily I didn't start reading from the top so I saw that it included my username and password. The only interesting thing it says is the date the decisions will be posted

Trust me, you'll be sitting in front of the computer for your decisions and will be freaking out. I know I did! When I found out I was accepted I screamed so loudly, it wasn't even funny.

i'm more scared of seeing the word rejected online than in a letter. i don't know how penn works, but the schools i apply to early action just had one word decisions like ACCEPTED a rejection letter makes it seem nicer than just the word. okay this post is really me just rambling and making no sense...

I get what you mean, nickel.
I mean if the word is ACCEPTED, you get the good news as quickly as possible. It's like injecting the happiness right into your bloodstream. No letter to skim through, just a big, bold word.

when that word is anything but accepted, it leaves you feeling sort of empty. There's nothing to soften the blow. No half-hearted "well, you tried...I guess everyone else tried harder" letter. Nothing.
Would the word be REJECTED or the less straight-forward NOT ACCEPTED?
I suppose it doesnt REALLY matter...
I'll stop now.

I think beginning a letter from the Admissions Dept. with the words 'I am pleased..' was kind of odd - given how anxious everyone is right now. Just wondering if this was sent to everybody?

^ I'm fairly sure that letter was just routine; a confirmation (basically), that they got all of your stuff and you can see your decisions online.

Yeah, I got that letter as well, but I was more amused when I opened the envelope - I knew it couldn't be admissions this early...my mom was jumping up and down, on the contrary, lol.
