Hi, i have this question after an US colleges education fair (which involves many third-tier fourth-tier colleges) They claimed that A-levels student will go into college as transfer (sophomore year instead of freshman) And this puzzled me, since almost 100% of colleges don't offered fin.aid to transfer, does it means after i finished my A-lvls, when i apply as freshman, my A-level grades are unable to be claim for exemption? vice versa, if i would want a credit exemption from my A-lvls grades, i will not be counted as freshman but transfer and could not qualify for fin. aid??

bump bump!

I imagine that you'd have to ask the colleges individually--it probably varies, (i.e. some might subsidize you, some might not.)

You only apply as a "Transfer" if you are already in college, or have enrolled in college before. Since you are still working on your A-level, you can't be in college yet.

You should apply as a "Freshman", although you will be able to claim some college credits with your A-level subjects once you are enrolled. Your situation is no different than others with AP credits or in IB programs.

I would recommend applying as a frosh
