A Little Advice, Please!

Currently, I am a California high-school sophomore, and since I have some time left, I was wondering if you all could help me have the best chance of getting in to UCSD when I apply in two years. I’m interested primarily in political science, but ideally, I would double major in that as well as maybe a physics/math. Where do I stand now, what stands out as my weaknesses, and what do I need to do to have my best chance of success? Thank you all so much!

I just got accepted into UCSD and honestly it is different for everyone. You have a lot more better stats than me but it also depends on your own individual story. I have gone through tons of hardships that were spoken in my essays. Also, when i visited ucr and uci a long time ago they said that many students are taking classes at a community college while in highschool during the entire school year not just summer(concurrent enrollment) i did that and have a total of 8 done. I would strongly suggest doing so if possible and plus its college credit and free classes since the program offers it for free!!! Good luck! And regardless of if u do take classes, im pretty sure you are good!

Based on your 11th grade schedule, senior year should include dual enrollment calculus 3 + some sort of science, because AP stats and Apes are 'AP Lite’s ’ meaning your senior schedule is much simpler than the others

@MYOS1634 Thank you so much! Yeah, I really want to take Calc 3 and either ODE or LA before college, but Stats is the last course available at my high school. Also, as far as Enviro goes, the only other AP science available is Chem, but that’s ridiculously hard at my school. If I were to substitute it for maybe a history or social science course, would that be alright?

@dayannaortiz6 Thank you so much! I would love to take more classes, but it’s logistically a little difficult during the school year. As far as that goes, though, would it be better to have breadth in terms of courses taken or depth in my areas of interest?

Also, I will have only taken 3 years of a language (Italian), but I will be skipping Italian 2, so I’ll take 1, 3, and AP (or 4 if AP isn’t offered). Would colleges view that more as having taken 3 years or 4?

AP is considered as Level 5.
Are you sure you can skip so much?

Is there a community college nearby where you could dual enrol for calculus and Italian?
