I am currently a freshman at University of Minnesota Twin Cities and I am considering transferring. I graduated high school with a 4.2 W (3.8 UW probably?!) with 9 APs + 1 IB but I didn't have the most rigorous courseload and took many regular classes especially my freshman and sophomore year.

Will this play a major role if I apply as a sophomore transfer to Top 20 schools? Assuming, I can get a good college gpa, would it be better to apply as a sophomore transfer, or wait until my sophomore year, to apply as a junior?
