For everyone who will leave his local HS and go ahead to BS this fall.
Will you have a party to say goodbye ?
Any idea for it ?
When / How / Where ........

Yeah! It will be my bday too so big partyy. Also.. I am moving from my apartment to a new house.. so more space =)

herm...i would just have a back yard bar-b-q with a bunch of friends and good music

We are going to have a BIG party. Family, friends, church, etc.

Im gana get wasted and ****faced. Im renting out a resort with my other friends whos leaving for BS. Oh its gana be sick

wow kwwistehuff, i hope your kidding.

I don't think I'm gonna actually do anything.
I'll probably just end up trying to go shopping and go around playing with my friends as much as possible before I leave.
but a lot of them will be overseas as well over the summer
so i dunno how much playing nd stuff i can actually do
:(

Last summer, my daughter's friends threw a very large (50+ kids) surprise going away party: Pool, Hot Tub, DJ, dancing till midnight. It was a lot of fun and she had a wonderful time. In a way, I think it made the first couple of weeks at boarding school harder for her. She was so used to being in a large circle of good friends and felt very lonely in comparison. No worries, though, she now has a good group of friends at school and doesn't ever want to come back to the local public high school.

One nice thing: all the kids at the party signed a posterboard, filled with good luck messages and funny memories. She has that up on her wall in her dorm room.

I want one, a barbecue with everyone from summer music and school.... And my block. But I'm not sure if I'm having one... and I'll be darned if she tries to surprise me.

(...I can't believe I just use the term 'I'll be darned')

I was thinking about having a bonfire and burning 15 years' worth of crap my daughter has accumulated in her room. S'mores anyone?

Laxtaxi: A great idea! But, my niece is vegetarian, so no marshmallows for her (they have gelatin, which is animal based - who knew?) More for us, then!

These are some good ideas....I want to start planning something for my niece. She may get two parties...one for her local school friends, and one for her many friends here in her second home of NYC. For the NYC party, I was thinking of a pot-luck picnic in one of our gorgeous parks.

no, no parties for me
I'll probably end up taking like 12 girls dorm/school supplies/clothes shopping with me though!

btw: geletin has horse hooves in it. but they're SHAVEN horse hooves, so it doesn't hurt the animal, so she could eat marshmellows, jello, whatever.

Dazzlezz: from what I know about teenage girls (admitted, I sometimes feel very clueless ;) ) I think many of them on this board will be jealous of your group shopping spree!

I have no idea what kind of party he wants but definitely a party for him before school ends.
One thing I'm sure, after the party comes the shortest summer ever, lots to do, camp, sports, on-line course, hang out w/friends, shop and pack. Then, September, I will sit in his room, try to clean the closet and miss him so much !

Sorry, I'm off the topic.

im most definatly having a party....
i know its going to be biiigggg, about everyone worth inviting in my high school,
and will probably invlolve mexican food considering there will not be much of the in new england and people around where i live eat it about everyday lol...
i'll probably also have a sleepover w/ my 9 best friends....

I had a huge sweet 16 this year, so I doubt it. My friends did mention something to me in October about a Surprise Party (I haven't forgotten yet!) but we'll see if they follow though.

The BBQ idea sounds good to me. I'll probably do several things, something with my family and family friends, something with my friends also going of to HS next year, none of whom are going to BS, and something with my HS friends.

I really want someone to have a surprise going away party for me, whether big or small i don't care...but i highly doubt anyone will, and i mean you don't just ask someone to throw a party for you....but i guess i'll see because if someone is gonna throw me a party maybe they didn't plan yet....or are really good at keeping a secret :)

i am not supposed to know buti overheard my two best friendss planning me a surprise going away party
shhh
