I have a question regarding to GE courses for transfers. Due to a family problem, I was not able to attend the orientation, and I feel like I have missed a lot of important information.
For transfers, what GE courses do we need to complete? I understand that there are three categories (15 units each), but do I still need to complete every classes they have written on the GE sheet?

Assuming you did not complete IGETC or another GE pathway prior to transfer, I believe you’ll need to satisfy all of the UCLA GEs. However, classes that you have already taken will be applied towards GEs and will probably knock out many of them. If you previously attended schools that have articulation agreements with UCLA, you can find out the credit you will receive here:

As soon as transfer credit is assessed, it will be posted to your Degree Progress Report (which is like an unofficial transcript) which you can access on URSA. Concern yourself only with the number of classes you receive credit for under each category and not the units, as GEs taken at UCLA are allocated more units than at most other colleges.

You might also consider attending one of the workshops that counseling offers to new students who have not attended orientation if you feel uneasy.

There’s also a specific meeting with your major advisor. I would advise talking to him/her to see the specific suggestions and requirements for your major.

also make sure that your DPR shows your units certified, if not you need to get that done asap.
