Well I am still in hs and im confused about the transfer process and what classes i must take. I'm planning to transfer to UCLA from another UC campus. We'll i know i must fulfill the pre-req's for my major (chem). But do i also have to finish my GE classes (are GE classes the same as breadth classes?). Do the pre-req's contain the GE classes or breadth classes? I don't know, im confused here. Please help, Thanks!

Figure out your GE classes. From those classes, try to pick any classes that can satisfy both a GE requirement and a prereq for your major. Once you've found all the classes that can count for both, add on the remaining prereqs

you do know that it will be harder to transfer into ucla from another uc than to transfer from a junior college, right?

If you didn't know that: community colleges in california have special agreements with the UC's, giving them top priority in transfer students (ie. don't go to UC Riverside or UC Merced instead of a j.c. thinking it will give you a better chance of sucessfully transfering to UCLA )

Also, articulation info on Welcome to ASSIST for going from a CC to a UC flows like honey from a giant honey pouring thing.

If you complete your UC's GE requirements, you can have your counselor fill out a UC Reciprocity Agreement, instead of IGETC, but you still need to complete as many pre-reqs as possible by spring
