Hi all,

I was kind of unaware of some of WashU's particular programs that are really great back when I was applying (I'm talking, of course, about PNP), so I ended up selecting biology as my area of interest.

I know that no real declaration of a major takes place until much later in my college career, but I don't want to get stuck behind any red tape before I even begin!

Will I be able to change my major at an Art Sci weekend? If not, when is the earliest I would be able to do so?

Thanks so much.

you haven’t declared your major, and shouldn’t until your sophomore year, so I guess the answer would be, yes! you’re fine.

I came in wanting to do Poli-Sci and Russian and am graduating with a double major in history and archeaeology. College, especially freshman year, is all about exploring your interests and figuring out what you want to do. The area of interest on your application has absolutely no bearing on your college career and creates no red tape. just tell your 4 year adviser (you’ll meet with them during art-sci weekend) you’re interested in PNP and they’ll help you pick classes that might interest you.
