A question about January scores!

Do I still have to send earlier scores if the universities I am appling to accept January scores?

No. 10char

actually it depends on the school. Some schools participate in score choice and some do not and require all scores

Thanks!
So if the school participates in score choice it is possible for me not to send any scores with the application and then send those from January when they are in??

^Yes. They know those taking the test at a later date will send their scores later.

Why not send the earlier scores? They know that other scores will be coming, but your file may just be fine without doing score choice. Plus, having a complete application file early seems like a good choice.

There is a lag before the Jan scores will be arriving at your college admissions office.

In fact, it’s a January 22nd test…the colleges won’t be getting those scores in till mid-February.

What is the deadline you are applying for admission? If it is a rolling admission school and there is no deadline, it may not be a big deal. But if your school is a January 1 deadline and they now don’t get your scores for 6 weeks (or later), wouldn’t that worry you?

Also, the earlier you get admitted, the earlier you get in the financial aid line, if you need it. JMO.

Thank you for your answers!
SamuraiLandshark, you are right. I am just concered that the college I want will see my 640 CR, which is low compared to my math and writing sections and this could make a bad impression or something like that and I know i can improve the score.

^If they allow January scores, they are used to waiting for January scores.

They MAY be used to waiting for January scores, but that doesn’t mean that particular applicant will have an advantage in the admissions process.

a 640 CR is nothing to sneeze at. What is the mid-range of scores for the college?

640/660/650 The mid 50% for Emory. As far as I know mostly minorities are accepted with similar or lower scores so i am a bit concerned
