Many schools offer an arts supplement, but I've found that many are very vague about what exactly they want. I am a musician, a cello player specifically, and generally the time limit is 10 minutes. But should I play one long piece? Three excerpts from pieces from different time periods? I was considering doing three excerpts: one from a Bach Suite (baroque), one from Saint-Saen's Concerto #1 in A-minor (romantic), and one from Piazzolla's Le Grand Tango (modern). Would that be a good repertoire? Or would most schools prefer to hear just one long concerto?

Three contrasting excerpts is fairly standard fare. I will not speak to exact repertoire, as without knowing your level and training, it would be unwise. Choices (where not specifically mandated) should be in conjunction with your private instructor.
