I have posted this question on other threads but in order to recieve an answer I figured I should make a new thread. If you have been denied admission or waitlisted (please specify which when answering) if you can log into banweb, does it say that your status is a new undergrad and does it give you budget figures? I haven't received my decision yet and my screen says that my status is a new undergrad who applied for financial aid and wants on campus housing and gives me my budget figures but I was wondering if it is generic and everyone gets this screen even when rejected. Thanks a bunch.

Well, this might confuse you more, but D was accepted, yet we can't log into banweb anymore. Only tried once before, two days before her acceptance came last Saturday, and was able to log in then, but nothing showed up in awards section. She was awarded two different scholarships when accepted, though, so who knows! All very confusing.

You will probably have to send in a deposit to log in, redr002.

My D was waitlisted. Never could get on Bandweb, still can't now. Did not apply for financial aid.

When was your waitlist letter posted? The 31st? My D STILL has gotten nothing from GWU as of yesterday's mail! They told her a letter was sent the 2 her the 31st.

If she doesn't hear today, you need to demand a response from the admissions office.

I agree. I will have her call again tomorrow if nothing in the mail today. She called last week, and they told her the letter was "in the mail". Other colleges (e.g., Brown) post the decision on the web at a set time so applicants can log in and find out, and then move on with their planning. If GWU has so many mailing problems posting from DC, why not just do that? They are behind the times on this.

I agree. I love GW, but the admissions office needs to get on the ball. They are losing prospective students because they are taking so long. They are also disrespecting the feelings of rejected/waitlisted students.

ThePrettyOne,

My D was waitlisted and asked to be removed from the list. But she can still access banweb and see what it would have cost her to attend GWU next year.

It's possible they may not have received her waitlist rejection yet.

Ds waitlist letter was posted March 30th.

Nothing again today! I'll have my D call GWU tomorrow and insist on knowing. They said they mailed her's the 31st, and we are near NYC. Truly odd.

I haven't gotten a decision yet either worrieddad. I'm in NJ, and 2 of my friends in my town got decisions 2 days ago, and 2 of us are still waiting. This is absolutely ridiculous.

My D has a friend who also didn't get his decision from GWU. He called a couple of days ago and had to FAX his transcript! (I really am NOT kidding.) He then got accepted. According to the admissions people, they lost his transcript....I don't know if he was ever told that the letter was "in the mail."

Thanks everybody, I really appreciate it.

For those that haven't heard: when you guys logged into banweb, did GW list "you must be accepted to a degree-granting program" as apart of the unsatisfied requirements?
